Ceyhun İrgil

Was born in 1965 in Izmir. In 1994, he graduated from Uludag University in general surgery and worked in the fields of breast, throid and emergency surgery. As part of his career he worked as an observer in the following institutions: Southhampton University General Hospital and Royal South Hanst Hospital in 1991, Goethe University Darmstadt Hospital Surgery and Traumalogy Clinic, USA Texas University Medical Center (UTMB) in 1996, Montana-St.Vincent Hospital, Yellow Stone Health Center. Irgil became part of the Breast Surgery Center that was established in 1996 and in 1997, he became the assistant chief of medicine at Bursa Oncology Hospital. In 2006, he got oncoplastic surgery training at European Oncology Institute in Milan, Italy and earned an OPC certificate.

Irgil was in the board of directors and board of publishers for Bursa Doctor’s Association. He was also the president or in the board of directors for the following: Bursa Breast Illnesses and Oncology, Emergency Medicine and Trauma, Hepato Surgery and Organ Transplant, BUSAT and non-governmental organizations (SIVILAY) as well as founding the MDDK.

Irgil was first published at Izmir Express and Yeni Asir newspapers in 1978 and later on he became the president and the founder of Hakimiyet, Bursa, Uludag Children’s Club and magazines. Irgil hosted a show at the first private radio of Bursa, and worked at Olay TV, Hakimiyet, Bursa Hakimiyet, Uludağ ve Olay newspapers.

He worked at Bursa Kent Museum and was a member of the founding board. He volunteered with the Bursa Research Association, City Council and Gundem 21. He worked in many conferences about women’s education as a speaker and an organizer. He worked for Health Works Group and was the president of Fotoimece Group. He is still a member of the City Council.

Irgil has any publications about women’s rights, education, health, archeology and history as well as about 110 articles and research in international medicine. 3 of them received international awards. He has many publications about breast in text books and he still writes for many magazines and newspapers. He has a poetry book “Rainbow Within Me” the profits of which was donated to cancer patients.

Irgil, a member of BUFSAD opened 12 personal photo exhibitions donating the profits for cancer patients. In 2008, he opened the biggest group exhibitions in the country with the title of ” Goodbye To Gray and Hello To Colors.” The project later on became a continuous and ongoing project under BURFOT with the name of Fotoimece.

In 2007-2009 he volunteered to teach at Balikesir Universitesi Health Vocational School because there was a lack of teaching professionals. He was given the award of “Personal Achievement” in 2005 by Junior Chamber International.

In 2009, in local elections he was elected for Bursa Municipality and Nilufer Municipality congress. In 2011 he resigned from these positions and he still continues to work with non-governmental organizations.
