Soner Yaman was born in 1978 in Kocaeli; he documents the everyday lives of and people of Konya, where he resides for long years. He got into photography into 1998 and got into the effort of documenting the area he lived in with the analogue cameras and black and white and diapositive films.
In 1999, 2 months after the Marmara Earthquake, he moved to Konya. In 2004, he graduated from the Archeology Department at Selcuk University. He opened his first personal exhibition in 2005 in Konya with the 30 black and white photos he printed himself and named “HIDDEN SHOTS.”
Between 2000-2005, he was a member of Konya Photography Amateurs Association (KONFAD). Since 2006, he was part of the documentary photo group “Simugphotos” that consists of Birol Uzmez, Tulun Uzmez, Tolga Tacmahal.
His photos were exhibited in universities, photo days and photo associations’ exhibitions.
As part of the Simugphotos, he continues his works as a freelance photographer and photo tutor.
